Three years into independent local ownership, Killington Resort enters the 2026–27 winter season on the back of a $65 million, two-year capital investment. From a new chairlift on Snowdon to an upgraded Jerk Jamaican Mountain Grill, here are the six biggest changes coming to The Beast this winter.

The New Snowdon Quad

The Snowdon Triple is being upgraded to the Snowdon Quad, which will feature a 33% boost in uphill capacity, along with a backup generator capable of keeping the lift running at full speed during a power outage. The new lift will be fixed-grip, which are known to be more dependable throughout all types of weather.

Needle's Eye Lodge

The Jerk Jamaican Mountain Grill is transforming into the Needle's Eye Lodge, an expansion that will grow the building to four times its current size, while preserving the same flavors that guests already love. The Jerk remains open and unaffected this coming season, with the new lodge targeted to open in winter 2027–28.

Snowmaking & Faster Checkout

Killington is once again pursuing their goal of having the longest season in the East, by adding a new pipeline and 23 low-energy snowguns to Conclusion — a trail that hasn't seen snowmaking for nearly a decade.

At Snowshed Lodge, a new AI-powered checkout system uses 3D cameras to tally purchases automatically, processing transactions up to four times faster than a traditional point-of-sale.

No More Outpost Double at Pico

The Outpost Double at Pico Mountain was retired after sustaining damage beyond repair last season. This winter, a temporary rope tow will provide access to the full Outpost area. A permanent replacement chairlift is in progress, with a target opening in 2027–28 — in time for Pico Mountain's 90th anniversary!

Bike Park Improvements

Killington has invested in a remote-controlled Moritz crawler carrier — a machine designed to work on steep terrain that larger machinery can't reach, while still supporting specialized attachments for trail construction and maintenance. A new 1.5-mile blue single-track hybrid trail is also under construction, and the Ramshead base area is getting a new dual slalom course and jump line before the end of this summer.

Summer Adventure Center Upgrades

The Adventure Center is expanding its attractions to include the Beast Tower, a Climbing Wall, and a new Trampoline Jump. The Roaring Brook Mining experience has also been doubled in size, and free additions for all guests include new lawn games and a new playground.
