When you think of spending a good season skiing and snowboarding, you really want to get the best out of it. If that's the case, you've probably considered the IKON Pass, the Epic Pass, or the Indy Pass. There are some key factors to consider before choosing the best ski pass for you.

The Quick Answer

It depends on your needs. The important variables: the number of resorts included vs. the pricing, whether it includes holiday access, and the locations of the resorts relative to where you live.

Ikon Pass

The Ikon Pass (adult ~$1,159) offers access to 50+ destinations including Killington, with discounts on summer activities, once-a-month pre-opening lift access, 25% off buddy passes, and 15% off food, beverage, and retail at select resorts. Best for skiers who want premium Northeast and Western options.

Epic Pass

The Epic Pass (adult ~$929) is the Vail Resorts pass, offering 20% off food and non-alcoholic beverages, ski and ride lessons, rentals, and airport transportation. Stowe is the flagship Vermont resort on the Epic Pass. Best for skiers loyal to the Vail network.

Indy Pass

The Indy Pass (adult ~$419) is the best value for families and budget-conscious skiers, boasting a roster of 100+ independent resorts. If you want to dodge the crowds and costs of mega-resort towns, the Indy Pass offers a lot of skiing for a modest price. The East Coast roster is lighter, but growing.

The Bottom Line

If you ski 5+ times a year and your home mountain is included, a season pass almost always pays for itself. For Killington specifically, the Ikon Pass offers the best access. Buy before mid-October for early-purchase discounts — the price goes up once the snow starts flying.
